Centering Pregnancy care at SWHC started in 2009, but it has been widely practiced in many parts of the United States for a long time. Check-ups, support, and education all take place in a group setting with a nurse-midwife.
If you choose to take part in our Centering Pregnancy program, you’ll meet 10 times throughout your pregnancy with a small group of other women with similar due dates, along with a provider and nurse. In each session, you will have private time with your nurse-midwife, before meeting as a group to discuss your experiences, questions, concerns, and solutions.
Group sessions are an opportunity to connect with other expectant moms, share stories, and talk about everything you’re going through both physically and emotionally. Many women even create lasting friendships through group sessions.
