How often should women see a gynecologist?
The American College Of Obstetricians And Gynecologists recommend, as a general rule, that all women have a pelvic exam at least once per year.

What will happen at my yearly exam?
A normal yearly exam at Shenandoah Women’s Healthcare consists of a physical exam and a breast exam. Sometimes we will also test for sexually transmitted infections and do a pap smear.

Do nurse-midwives do gynecological exams?
Yes. Certified nurse-midwives are primary care providers for women throughout their lifecycle, from puberty through menopause. They do well-woman care, including annual gynecological exams and treatment of gynecological problems.
