BOTOX

As a person ages, it is natural to develop fine lines and wrinkles around your brows. This is due to the muscle movement and passage of time. With Botox you can temporarily reduce the effects time has taken on your brow.

Botox is a purified protein administered in a simple non-surgical procedure that temporarily improves frown lines and wrinkles. During treatment very low doses of Botox are administered via a few injections directly into the muscles.

The procedure is quick and simple with no downtime and minimal discomfort. The effects are temporary and reinjection may be required in 3-6 months. Side effects are rare and you may resume your normal activity immediately.

Botox – $12.50 per unit

FACIAL AND CHEMICAL PEELS

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion has effects similar to chemical peels and is used to improve the appearance of the skin. The NewApeel Aesthetic Exfoliation System is the original crystal free treatment that promotes smoother and more youthful skin. Using the patented DiamondTome wand, the treatment is a safe, therapeutic approach to superior skin care results.

MicroExfoliation is a technique that removes the topmost layer of skin, leaving it more supple and vibrant. The NewApeel Aesthetic Exfoliation System removes this layer by gently polishing the skin with natural diamond chips bonded to the tip of the wand, while vacuuming the exfoliated skin cells away in a controlled manner.

Removing this outer layer leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin. Unlike other exfoliation treatments, the NewApeel Aesthetic Exfoliation uses no loose abrasives to contaminate you or the environment.

Chemical Peels

Wrinkles caused by sun damage, aging, and hereditary factors can be reduced or even eliminated with chemical peels. Mild scarring and certain types of acne may also be treated with chemical peels.

By applying chemical solution to the skin, we separate or peel off the unsightly appearance and allow new skin to regenerate. The new skin is smoother with less wrinkles, and may appear more consistent in color.

Our chemical peels are mild and give you a wonderful glow following the treatment.

Which Peel to choose?

Your aesthetician will discuss with you which peel is suitable for your skin type and which formula you will benefit from.

FILLERS

We offer Juvederm and Radiesse as our first line dermal fillers. These fillers are FDA approved, safe, easy to work with and give you a natural youthful look by filling frown lines, wrinkles, and nasolabial folds.

By utilizing these different fillers we are able to offer different treatment plans for different budgets and fillers that last different lengths of time. Results are immediate and last 4-16 months depending on which filler you select.

All are natural substances which are reabsorbed by the body with a very low risk profile. No pretesting is required.

Juvederm

Juvederm is the newest cosmetic dermal filler approved by the FDA. Juvederm is safe and easy to work with giving you a natural youthful look by filling frown lines, wrinkles, and nasolabial folds. It temporarily adds volume to the skin and restores a smoother surface. Juvederm is a natural filler made from a colorless hyaluronic acid. Due to its natural substance, no pretesting is required and side effects are minimal.

During the first 24 hours after injection, you should avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages. Exposure to any of the above may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection sites.

As correction is temporary, touch-up injections typically are needed around six months to keep your skin surface smooth.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a safe, next-generation dermal filler used in correcting and filling smile lines and nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Radiesse not only fills but actually volumizes. This treatment restores a natural, youthful look that has lasted up to a year in some individuals and actually stimulates the body to produce new collagen. Radiesse is FDA approved and provides a safe and effective treatment.

Radiesse is made of unique calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a water based gel and injected into the skin through a simple, safe, and minimally invasive procedure. Due to the fact that Radiesse is biocompatible, no allergy testing is needed prior to treatment and side effects are minimal.

Fraxel Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fraxel?

Fraxel treatments use safe, fractional laser technology to treat minor to severe skin damage, such as age or sun spots, wrinkles and other signs of aging. Depending on your needs, Fraxel treatment can help prevent the signs of aging, resurface damaged skin or correct severe damage.

How long has Fraxel been available?

The first non-ablative Fraxel device was first cleared by the FDA in 2003 and has been available in physician offices since then. Our office has been treating patients with Fraxel since 2007.

How does it work?

Fraxel treatment uses patented fractional technology to target damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the skin. The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes rapid healing. This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing the old and damaged cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

How long is the treatment?

Depending on the size, location and condition of the are to be treated, Fraxel treatments can take as little as 20 minutes. However, we ask that you reserve at least 2 hours for your appointment.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments you will need depends on your goals and desired outcomes as well as your lifestyle. We will work with you to weigh the aggressiveness of treatment with the downtime associated. Typically, patients receive their desired outcomes in 3-6 treatments.

Who can be treated with the Fraxel laser? Can you treat parts of the body?

Fraxel lasers treat women and men of all ages and skin color. Fraxel treatment also works on delicate skin areas like the neck, chest and hands.

What kind of results can I expect?

Your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even skin tone. Other benefits of treatment may include:

  • Smoother, fresher, younger looking skin
  • Improved tone and texture
  • Erasing of unwanted brown spots
  • Reduced fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes
  • When do the results appear, and how long do they last?

The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal. Results can last for years depending on your age and skin condition.

What will I look like immediately after the procedure? Can I go right back to work?

Fraxel treatment can be tailored to your desired outcome. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, you may experience redness or swelling after the procedure which diminishes as quickly as the next day or over the next several days. We’ll work with you to determine the best option to fit your lifestyle.

Does it hurt?

Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. We will apply a topical anesthetic ointment before the procedure, which helps to minimize any discomfort during treatment. The provider may recommend other medications, which you can discuss during your consultation.

Who performs the procedure?

Our physicians and staff have been extensively trained on the Fraxel treatment.

Can I get a Fraxel treatment instead of a facelift?

The Fraxel non-ablative treatments can resurface damaged skin but does not offer the dramatic results of a facelift.

Can I avoid other cosmetic procedures if I do this?

Each procedure has its own benefits. Fraxel is a great choice for resurfacing your skin, helping to diminish age or sun spots, reducing wrinkles and fine lines and many other benefits. During your consultation, your provider will discuss which procedure(s) is best for you and your desired results.

Can I get a Fraxel treatment if I’ve already had other procedures?

Fraxel procedures may be compatible with most other cosmetic procedures, like soft-tissue fillers, Thermage or even Botox. For best results you will need to discuss your past procedures, as well as your current expectations with your provider during your consultation.

Is it safe?

Fraxel treatment is a safe option backed by extensive research. Of course, as with any laser procedure, there’s always some risk and/or downtime. Your provider can discuss those with you during your consultation.

LASER HAIR REDUCTION

Confidence starts with great looking skin.

With the advanced laser technology of our GentleMax™ system, there’s never been a better time to gently and safely remove unwanted hair. This is virtually a painless procedure that lasts approximately 15-30 minutes per visit depending on the area you are treating.

Laser Hair Reduction requires a series of treatments (approximately 6) every four to six weeks to complete treatment.

How does the laser treatment work?

The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deeply into skin tissue, where it delivers a controlled amount of targeted therapeutic heat. Candela’s patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™) technology protects the upper layers of your skin with a cooling burst of cryogen. Together, the long-pulse laser and DCD or air cooling offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.

What can I expect during treatment?

Treatment will take place in your practitioner’s office. You will wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light. Your practitioner will guide the laser to the treatment areas with a small handpiece. Each laser pulse may be preceded and followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. A treatment could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area and condition being treated.

Does it hurt?

Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described like the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by Candela’s DCD or air cooling. For some patients, a topical anesthetic may be used prior to treatment. Be sure to discuss this with your practitioner.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. For hair removal, multiple treatments are required, as the process is most effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase.

How do I prepare for treatment?

Patients scheduled for hair removal should avoid plucking, electrolysis or hair waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus and are scheduled for laser treatment, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.

Also, your skin should be clean shaven, and your skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products before laser treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for comfort following your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve within a few hours.

What precautions should I take after treatment?

After laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock (SPF 30 or above). In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.

Are there side effects?

Your risks are minimal. Side effects may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area—these usually do not last more than a few days. Permanent side effects are rare. Be sure to discuss potential side effects with your practitioner.

Laser Hair Removal Pricing

All of our hair reduction is priced by location. You can purchase a package which includes six visits or you may pay per visit. If you purchase a package and do not need all of your visits for that specific area, we will be happy to apply the remainder toward another area or hold them should you need touch-ups.

If you would need more than 6 visits or a touch-up on a certain area, the price would be $35 for 15 minutes or less or 1/2 of the individual session price, whichever is less. Anything over 15 minutes is not considered a touch-up and would be at 1/2 the session rate.

PERMANENT COSMETICS

Permanent Cosmetic and Microblading is the art of implanting color to the eyelash line, lips, or eyebrow region in order to improve a client’s appearance. This is a great solution for women who pencil their eyebrows, color and re-shape their lips everyday, or simply for anyone who wears eyeliner! Women who don’t wear makeup can enjoy the benefits of natural permanent cosmetics as well.

Permanent Cosmetics Pricing

Eyebrows (Microblading)- 3 hour appointment $400
Eyeliner Top- 1.5 hour appointment $225
Eyeliner Bottom- 1.5 hour appointment $200
Eyeliner Top & Bottom- 2.5 hour appointment $400
Lip Liner- 1.5 hour appointment $300
Full Lip Color- 2.5 hour appointment $400

All patients need a complimentary consultation before first appointment. Each new procedure comes with one free touch up to be used within 6-12 weeks.

PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) represents a huge advancement in non-ablative skin care. PDT is rapidly becoming the “gold standard” to which all other treatments are compared. It involves the application of Levulan (5-ALA), a photosensitizing agent to the skin which is then activated by a light service which results in remodeling of the skin.

Levulan PDT has FDA approval for treating actinic keratosis (AK’s) which are precancerous skin lesions. It has been shown to dramatically improve actinic damaged skin, sun damaged skin, and moderate to severe acne. Additionally, it improves pore size, wrinkles, skin texture, pigmentation, rosacea, sebaceous hyperplasia, and potentially prevents the development of skin cancer. It is rapidly gaining acceptance as a laser alternative to Accutance for severe acne.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is our treatment of choice to reduce or eliminate unwanted varicose and spider veins. A small amount of sclerosing agent (sodium tetradecyl sulfate) is injected into the vein to irritate the inner lining of the blood vessel causing it to close down.

Side effects are minimal and typically 1-4 treatments are necessary to achieve cosmetic and functional improvement.

Sclerotherapy (30 minute session) – $300

SKIN AND PIGMENTATION DISORDERS

Sun damage, medical problems, hormones, melasma, aging and genetic factors can all cause pigmentation and textural problems with your skin. We use state of the art lasers along with chemical peels and cosmoceuticals to treat these problems and give your skin a smoother more consistent appearance.

SKIN REJUVENATION PROGRAMS

Tired of unsightly wrinkles and fine lines caused by aging or sun damage? Our skin rejuvenation programs can reduce and even eliminate acne, acne spots, broken blood vessels, fine lines, wrinkles, and other skin problems, giving your skin a healthy and youthful appearance.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. For hair removal, multiple treatments are required, as the process is most effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase.

Other conditions may clear up in only one treatment, but many factors impact the efficacy of individual laser treatments, including the severity of the condition being treated.

How do I prepare for treatment?

If you have a history of herpes simplex virus and are scheduled for laser treatment, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. Also, your skin should be clean shaven, and your skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products before laser treatment.

The intended treatment area should not be exposed to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment according to your provider’s recommendation. Before laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock (SPF 30 or above).

What can I expect after treatment?

A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for comfort following your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve within a few hours.

What precautions should I take after treatment?

Are these treatments covered by insurance?

Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic procedures. Some carriers will, however, cover the treatment of disfiguring birthmarks such as hemangiomas. Consult your insurance carrier for conclusive information.

SUNLESS SPRAY TANNING

A fast drying, golden brown spray-on color solution.

Norvell Amber Sun System gives you color in two ways. First with a cosmetic bronzer (instant) that is visible the moment you apply the product. Next with a DHA bronzer (dihydroxyacetone) which reacts with amino acids in your skin to develop color over 2-3 hours with no orange color. Norvell’s even, streak free formula has built-in sheeting action to eliminate spotting and streaking.

It also contains Erythrulose, an additional bronzer that extends the life of your tan. Our micro-emulsion technology provides an even, effective mist application while our proprietary odor inhibitor eliminates unpleasant odor usually associated with sunless products.

Amber Sun is a Aloe Vera based product that is naturally good for your skin. We utilize skin firming Copper “Firm-a-derm” technology for younger, youthful looking skin and caffeine which is proven to protect your skin form detrimental effects of overexposure to the sun. Caffeine has also been proven to reduce cellulite. Call today to schedule your appointment for “just off the beach color.”

Norvell Tanning Guidelines

What should I expect?

You can expect 5 to 7 days of beautiful “just off the beach” color, with proper maintenance, color results can extend even longer.

What do I need to do to prepare for the treatment?

24 hours before your session you should:

  • Exfoliate before each session to remove dry, flaky skin.
  • Sunless spray tans affect only the top 25% of the skin, so you will want to remove this extra skin prior to tanning. By removing dead, dry skin cells you are effectively removing the barrier that will prevent the absorption of DHA bronzers into fresh healthy skin cells.
  • Avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products or in-shower moisturizers. These products can halt the DHA bronzing or cause the dreaded “orange effect.”
  • Shaving is best completed 24-hours prior to your sunless tanning session.
  • Do not apply lotion, moisturizers or perfumes prior to your session.
  • Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and remove jewelry.

What do I need to do to prolong my treatment and get the best results?

  • Avoid sweating!
  • Avoid water, pools & spas!
  • Wait to shower! At least 8 hours before showering or bathing. Bathe with plain water only for the first 16-hours after your session.
  • Pat skin dry with a towel, do not rub

SculpSure

SculpSure is a non-invasive body contouring system that can help reduce the number of fat cells in stubborn areas that seem to be resistant to diet and exercise. The laser treatment elevates the internal temperature of the fat tissue in troublesome areas such as the abdomen and love handles without affecting the skin’s surface. Over time, damaged fat cells are naturally absorbed and removed from the body.

What should I expect during a SculpSure treatment?

Each treatment takes approximately 25 minutes. Patients may feel a slight tingling sensation throughout the procedure.

How many sessions will I need?

SculpSure requires multiple treatment sessions. The number of sessions is different for each patient and their unique needs. Your provider will work with you to come up with a treatment plan.

What can I expect after a treatment?

There is no downtime after a treatment and you can resume normal activities immediately following your session.

When will I begin to see the results?

As your body begins to remove the damaged fat cells you will start to achieve a slimmer and natural looking appearance. You may begin to notice these changes as early as 6 weeks following treatment. Typically, you will see optimal results at 12 weeks.

How long will the results last?

Fat cells that are destroyed during the treatment will not regenerate.
